‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ makeover given to ‘Pride and Prejudice,’ other classics

Ever wondered what happened in Mr. Darcy's bedroom? Or if Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson were more than friends?

Thanks to an adult fiction publisher, soon you'll know. It's giving "Pride and Prejudice," "20,000 Leagues Under The Sea" and other classics an erotic makeover a la the bestselling "Fifty Shades of Grey" trilogy.

Clandestine Classics told the Independent it's "100 percent" confident there's a market for sexed up versions of 19th century novels from Jane Austin, Emily Bronte and others and hopes to introduce them to a whole new generation of readers.

The original prose and "author's voice" will remain, just with "missing" sex scenes thrown in throughout, Claire Siemaszkiewicz, founder of Clandestine's Total E-Bound Publishing, told the Hollywood Reporter.

"People are either going to love it or hate it," she said.

In the revamped "Wuthering Heights," for example, heroine Catherine Earnshaw "enjoys bondage sessions" with Heathcliff while Sherlock Holmes has a seuxal relationship with his sidekick Dr. Watson in the new version of that classic, according to The Huffington Post.

If that sounds appealing at all to you, look for the e-books starting July 30.
