Former President George H.W. Bush remained in stable condition at a Houston hospital Sunday, The Associated Press reported.
Bush, 88, has been in and out of Methodist Hospital recently for complications related to bronchitis.

Initially, it appeared the elder Bush was improving and could be released from the hospital by this weekend, according to US News & World Report.
But Bush spokesman Jim McGrath told KWTX, "He still has the cough and we're now not expecting him to be discharged this weekend."

Doctors at Methodist "are going to play it safe there for obvious reasons," he said.
Hospital visitors have included Bush's son, former President George W. Bush, and his wife Laura, who live in Dallas, according to the AP.
