Novak Djokovic hits a shot while practicing before to the start of the 2012 U.S. Open at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on Aug. 24, 2012, in Queens.
During practice today in New York City a young boy jokingly proposed to Serbian tennis champ Novak Djokovic.
"Will you marry me!" the boy shouted from the stands.
The crowd had a good laugh about it, but then Djokovic asked the kid down to the court. No one could have predicated what happened next.
He beat the kid up! No, that didn't happen.
Instead, Djokovic invited the young heckler onto the court for a few practice shots. Adorable.
CBS speculates the moment was staged. Let's hope not.
Professional sports are rife with greed, scandals and offensive gaffs that suck the life and joy out of watching your favorite athlete. It's enough to make cynics and and wholesale skeptics out of us all.
So maybe this was just a great spontaneous moment for the fans, and of course, the young boy.
Here's the video. Enjoy!
