Canadians watching a morning TV news broadcast were mistakenly subject to three minutes of hardcore gay pornography.
The unscheduled change in broadcasting — which affected CHCH-TV in Hamilton, Ontario at around 9:30 a.m. — was due to an error by a cable provider, the National Post reported.
"It felt like an eternity but I think it was on there for about a minute," said Mike Katrycz, the vice-president of news at CHCH, owned by Channel Zero, which also broadcasts adult movie services, according to the Toronto Sun.
"We discovered through quick investigation that … it was one of the cable companies that had patched it. It was beyond our control."
The Hollywood Reporter referred to it as a botched repair job.
CHCH TV apologized numerous times on air. "We have been doing a lot of apologizing this morning," Katrycz said.

As well as homes, the adult content was reportedly broadcast into gyms and cafes showing the news.
The hashtag #chch was soon trending on Twitter, with one CHCH viewer calling the Friday newscast “Morning Wood.”
Another mistakenly thought that, "I woke up in the middle of a Maplethorpe shoot."
A week ago, a similar error by Comcast led to pornography being shown instead of Good Morning America on KRDO-TV in Colorado, though only for a few seconds, the New York Daily News reported.
