Black Caviar, Australian wonder horse, wins 21st straight race

Black Caviar, the Australian sprinter that many claim to be unbeatable, has stretched a record run of wins to 21 by winning the Group One Goodwood at Morphettville, Adelaide. 

The 5-year-old mare easily won the 1,200-meter race, her last before heading to England for the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot in June.

She even slowed down approaching the post for a one-length victory, according to the Associated Press.

Jockey Luke Nolen was quoted as saying: "She was never out of second gear.

"I'm not a punter. I don't worry about margins.

"As long as she bloody wins I don't care."

The New York Times cited Timeform ratings as ranking Black Caviar second best in the world behind the UK-based Frankel.

Wise Dan, at eighth, is the highest-ranking American horse.

BBC meantime cited trainer Peter Moody as rejected claims that Black Caviar had to prove herself at Royal Ascot.

Responding to the suggestion by a British journalist that she had not beaten any major international horses in Australia, Moody replied: "You have never seen anything like this horse before. 

"It would be an absolute tragedy if she went there [to Ascot] and got beaten by your B-grade sprinters for half the prize money and [traveling] three-quarters of the way around the world."
