Happy Chinese New Year…from outer space.
Chris Hadfield, a Canadian astronaut on the International Space station, sent well-wishes to earth via Twitter.
"Happy Chinese New Year! May it be filled with joy and success," Hadfield wrote, Space.com reported.
"To celebrate, we sent a Progress spaceship to burn like fireworks in the sky."
He also sent beautiful photos from space of China and other Asian countries, like this one of Taiwan:
He also sent an arresting image of Shanghai at night and a view of the city of Hangzhou, NBC News reported.
Hadfield is one of six astronauts living on the International Space Station, including three Russian cosmonauts and two American astronauts, according to Space.com.
To our knowledge, he is the only one to send Chinese New Year greetings back to earth.
