Aptly-named iGotYa phone app sends photo to robbed owner

A woman trying to unlock a stolen phone accidentally allowed it to take a picture of her which was then sent to the phone's owner, reported SKY News.

The iGotYa application alerted the owner of the stolen iPhone 4 (price tag 319 British pounds) nearly a month after it disappeared from a nightclub in Brighton's East Sussex area, said Britain's Daily Mail. 

The owner proceeded to inform local police, who described the program as "rather cool" and scrutinized the photo in order to help determine the location of the person in the picture, who may or may not be the thief, according to SKY. 

The photo (see it here) is of a brunette woman, whose look of unruffled concentration seems to indicate she was unaware the picture was being taken. 

"We don't know that the woman is the person who stole the camera, but she obviously has had some connection with it in the meantime and I'd like to speak to her about it," Sussex policeman Gavin Crute said, reported SKY. 

The application seems to have been triggered when the wrong iPhone passcode was entered into the phone, said the Daily Mail.
