Zimbabwe man dies, wakes up in coffin

A Zimbabwe man was dead for a long enough time that his loved ones put him in a coffin last week. But before burial, he suddenly woke up with no memory of how he got in the coffin. He's either a guy with a really bad hangover story, or our new Jesus.

Brighton Dama Zanthe had actually been sick for a long time, his employer Lot Gaka  told The Herald. “I was not surprised when I received a call from Mr Zanthe’s wife on Monday night last week saying that her husband had died,” Gaka said.

Yet as mourners viewed Zanthe's body, they noticed his legs twitching in his coffin.

“This shocked me. I was the first to notice Mr. Zanthe’s moving legs as I was in the queue to view his body. At first I could not believe my eyes but later realized that there was indeed some movements on the body as other mourners retreated in disbelief,” Gaka added. 

Zanthe, meanwhile, told the Herald that he last remembered being on life support before suddenly waking up in the coffin.

Perhaps this isn't a resurrection story as much as another crucial reminder to double-check all the vital signs before starting the funeral. A year ago, an Egyptian man suffered a heart attack, but woke up just as mourners were preparing to say goodbye to him forever. A Zimbabwe school girl also reportedly rose from the dead at her 2011 funeral. 

And in a particularly horrific incident last year, a Brazilian toddler woke up at his own funeral, asked his dad for water, and then passed out. His parents took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead a second and final time.
