The annual whirlwind of costumes, dancing and music that is Carnival and Mardi Gras has nearly come to a close.
It's Fat Tuesday, and tomorrow marks the beginning of Lent and all things Easter in Christianity.
Hundreds of thousands of revelers converged upon Rio de Janeiro, New Orleans, Santa Cruz de la Palma and other cities around the world for days of parades, rich food, libations and even talcum powder.
But what's the better party? Mardi Gras? Or Carnival?
