Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band signed album sells for record price

A signed copy of The Beatles album "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" was sold for $290,500 at a recent auction.

The Hollywood Reporter said that it was a record price for a signed album by the group.

The rock band signed the copy in June 1967 when the album was released.

The previous Beatles record sale was $150,000 of the album "Meet the Beatles."

Officials believed the current album was going to be sold for $30,000.

The anonymous buyer purchased the album through Dallas-based Heritage Auctions.
