Russian politician calls royal baby yet another ‘blood-sucking’ British monarch

Vladimir Zhirinovsky, a notoriously outspoken Russian politician, has unleashed his incendiary views on Britain's new royal baby, according to the Moscow Times. 

"I don't care about the heir," Zhirinovsky, who heads the nationalist Liberal Democrat Party, bluntly declared to reporters on Tuesday, said the Times.

Britain "destroyed our [Russian] state," the 67-year-old barreled on. Thus, "the birth of another British monarch, who will suck our blood somewhere in the mid-21st century, cannot bring us any kind of happiness," he reportedly said. 

Russian leaders were more polite, having formally congratulated Queen Elizabeth II on the birth of her new great-grandson on Monday, said the Toronto Sun.

British and Russian royal ties go way back. King George V was the first cousin of Tsar Nicholas II, a figure Britain's Daily Mail said "some blame for the downfall of the Romanov dynasty in 1917" — Zhirinovsky presumably among them. 

Zhirinovsky also made a point of mentioning that he himself is expecting a grandson, noted the Moscow Times.
