Oxford librarian gets boot after letting students “Harlem Shake”

Oxford university librarian Calypso Nash has been sacked after 30 students participated a rousing rendition of the "Harlem Shake" in the prestigious British stacks.
The "Harlem Shake" video featured students participating in a rowdy version of the dance phenom and swiftly received thousands of hits on Youtube — but university officials were by no means amused.

The librarian was promptly fired, and every student able to be identified in the video has been fined by the Dean of the 120-year-old Oxford University College, wrote the Telegraph.
Students have called for graduate student and classics specialist Nash to be restored, wrote the Telegraph, claiming that she "just happened to be there at the library at the time" and didn't take part in the prank.
St Hilda's Junior Common Room passed an official motion demanding Nash's reinstatement, though the University has offered no comment, noted the BBC
"We don't want to undermine the college authorities or decisions they make, but in this case we think their reaction is excessive and the dismissal is unfair," said JCR president Esther Gosling to the BBC.
