For the first time ever, a majority of the members of US Congress are millionaires.
The figures come from analysis of personal finance data by the Center for Responsive Politics.
According to the report, at least 268 of the 534 current federal lawmakers had an average net worth of $1 million or more in 2012.
Democrats were worth slightly more than Republicans, and senators made way more money on average than most House members.
The median net worth was $1,008,767 in 2012 — an increase from $966,000 in 2011.
While members of Congress have been far wealthier than the average American for years, this is the first time a majority have made more than $1 million.
Here are the 10 richest US lawmakers (average net worth in 2012):
1. Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.); $464 million
2. Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.); $257 million
3. Rep. Jared Polis (D-Colo.); $198 million
4. Rep. John K. Delaney (D-Md.); $155 million
5. Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas); $143 million
6. Rep. Scott Peters (D-Calif.); $112 million
7. Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.); $103 million
8. Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-W.Va.); $101 million
9. Rep. Vernon Buchanan (R-Fla.); $89 million
10. Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.); $88 million
