A Southern California man remains hospitalized after trying to saw his arms off at a Home Depot store.
Horrified customers called 911 after the man calmly grabbed two hacksaws yesterday and began cutting his arms down to the bone at the store east of Los Angeles, The Associated Press reported.

"He just began sawing away," Cpl. Rudy Lopez told the Los Angeles Times.
Luckily, an off-duty paramedic was shopping nearby.
The 21-year veteran firefighter crafted makeshift tourniquets out of rags and twine from the store's shelves, likely saving the man's life, KTLA reported.

The man remains in intensive care after undergoing surgery at a nearby hospital.
