Gambia President says gays are biggest threat to human existence
Gambian President Yahya Jammeh claims he can cure Aids with a herbal body rub and bananas.

Gambian President Yahya Jammeh, however, believes gays are the biggest danger facing the planet, along with greed and obsession with world domination.
"Those who promote homosexuality want to put an end to human existence," Jammeh told world leaders at the United Nations in New York on Friday.
"It is becoming an epidemic and we Muslims and Africans will fight to end this behavior."
Such extreme comments shouldn’t be surprising coming from someone who claims he can cure Aids with a herbal body rub and bananas.
This is also the man who once ordered gays and lesbians to leave the West African country or risk being beheaded.
Nevertheless, Jammeh's latest antigay remarks are "disturbing," Andre Banks, executive director of global gay rights group All Out, was quoted as saying.
"In his list of the world's greatest threats, the President left one out — intolerance," Banks said.
Homosexual behavior is illegal in Gambia and reportedly carries a hefty 14-year jail sentence.
