This footage of an Ebola patient landing in Spain is basically a scene from ‘Outbreak’

Spanish missionary Miguel Parajes landed in his home country yesterday, transported on a high-tech military Airbus A310. He'd been caring for Ebola patients in the Liberian capital of Monrovia when he became infected with the virus himself.

There's video of his arrival, and it's pretty intense.

The Ebola outbreak in West Africa has been steadily growing since March. At least 1,779 people have been infected, and 961 have died. It's the worst Ebola outbreak in history.

The outbreak is a devastating crisis in Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone, and it threatens to spread unless a coordinated international response can get it under control. 

As of now, it's not a threat to most nations with advanced medical infrastructure. In the United States, if you get your information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, you know that Ebola doesn't pose a significant threat to Americans. On the other hand, if you get your information from certain sensational news media, you're probably stocking up on water and canned goods.

So before you watch this video, make a reasonable assessment of the risk Ebola poses to you. If you're an aid worker in West Africa, thank you for everything you're doing and please stay safe. If you're in a cubicle in Stamford, Conn., do not even think for a second about freaking out, seriously.
