Carla Bruni forgets the lyrics to her song at Alzheimer’s concert (VIDEO)

For a musician, forgetting the lyrics to your songs during a concert is likely embarassing.

But forgetting the lyrics to your songs in a concert to raise money for dementia certainly adds an element of irony into the mix.

France's former first lady and music star Carla Bruni-Sarkozy was the guest of honor at a fundraiser for a foundation that does research into Alzheimer's on Wednesday night.

During her famous song "Quelqu'un m'a dit," Bruni-Sarkozy paused, appearing to forget the lyrics to her song.

She admitted to her mistake, saying "I was wrong" and then quickly recommenced her performance of the existential love song.

Far from scorn, her error was met with applause by the audience.

The former supermodel married French president Nicholas Sarkozy in 2008. She is heavily involved in philanthropic and charity work in France and abroad.
