More from GlobalPost: Colbert welcomes President Clinton 'to the future' with @PrezBillyJeff Twitter
Earlier this month, comedian Stephen Colbert welcomed Clinton "to the future" by setting up a Twitter account under the @PrezBillyJeff handle.
Clinton said he didn't object to the name of his new handle since, as Colbert said, "President Clinton was taken, William Jefferson Clinton was taken, but Prez Billy Jeff was available."
He only tweeted once, but within hours @PrezBillyJeff had more than 60,000 followers.

Under the more official @billclinton, the former president was up to nearly 390,000 followers as of Thursday afternoon.
His background image promotes his organization, the Clinton Foundation. Of the eight people he's following, six are related to his projects or global health initiatives.
The others are Colbert, of course, and his daughter, Chelsea, who welcomed her father to Twitter this morning.
A more tongue-in-cheek Sen. John McCain did as well, tweeting "Welcome to Twitter, President @BillClinton – you're a little late!"
