Acid in female co-worker’s shoes for revenge, police charge Japanese man
A Japanese man tried to kill a woman by putting acid in her shoes after she spurned his romantic advances.
Police in Japan have charged a man with allegedly putting acid in a female co-worker's shoes.
Tatsujiro Fukasawa, 40, was held on attempted murder after he tried to get revenge on the woman for rejecting his advances.
The woman stepped into her shoe and lost all five of her toes after developing gangrene.
She remains in hospital recovering from her injuries.

The man apparently put highly corrosive hydrofluoric acid into her shoe at work on Dec. 5 last year.
Hydrofluoric acid is used to make semiconductors as well as glass – as well as chemical weapons.
The accused denies the allegations against him.
