As if people didn't like traffic enough, the urban phenomenon has been the subject of political drama thanks to New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's "Bridgegate"  and Thailand's "Bangkokalypse." 

While we admit its recent use for both civil protest and political revenge may have its creative merits, traffic is generally understood to be the problem every urban-dweller loves to hate on.

INRIX, a leading traffic services provider, ranked the most congested metro areas in North American and Europe for 2013 (If you're a statistics nerd, you can  read their methodology here). Here are the top 10:
