Infographic: American Attitudes on Civil Rights

The Takeaway

As part of our series on the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington and the future of the civil rights movement, The Takeaway partnered with YouGov to conduct a survey that highlights American attitudes toward civil rights.
The total sample size for this survey was 1,120 adults. Fieldwork was undertaken between August 21 – 22, 2013, and the figures have been weighted and are representative of all adults aged 18-plus. The WNYC Data News team created this infographic. For full coverage of the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington, click here.

Do you support journalism that strengthens our democracy?

At The World, we believe strongly that human-centered journalism is at the heart of an informed public and a strong democracy. We see democracy and journalism as two sides of the same coin. If you care about one, it is imperative to care about the other.

Every day, our nonprofit newsroom seeks to inform and empower listeners and hold the powerful accountable. Neither would be possible without the support of listeners like you. If you believe in our work, will you give today? We need your help now more than ever!
