South Africa may have moved on years ago from the racial segregation of apartheid.
But race is still a very touchy subject there.
Witness the uproar over a recent article on interracial dating published by the student newspaper at the University of Cape Town.
The article included a pie chart that touted the results of a survey entitled “UCT votes on the most attractive race.”
According to the chart, the largest number of students said Caucasians were the most attractive.
The World’s Anders Kelto is based in Cape Town. He says the newspaper polled 60 people from six different ethnic backgrounds in a university that counts 23,000 students.
