Syria’s crackdown on protesters intensifies

Human rights groups say 580 people have been killed in Syria since March. The Syrian government now says it has control over the uprising, though both sides are characterizing the conflict as a fight till the end. Anthony Shadid, correspondent for The New York Times, reports.
