Pussy Riot Jailed Members Get a Two Year Jail Sentence

In a Moscow court on Friday, the three jailed members of the punk collective Pussy Riot have been found guilty of hooliganism motivated by religious hatred.

The judge sentenced them to two years in jail.

The women had sung an anti-Putin protest song in a Moscow Cathedral last February.

The Guardian’s Miriam Elder, who is covering the trial, tells anchor Marco Werman there was a large crowd gathered outside the court shouting “Russia Without Putin”” in their support.

Elder said Pyotr Verzilov, husband of Pussy Riot member Nadezhda Tolokonnikova told her “What Putin wants, Putin gets.”
