Protests on Anniversary of Bahrain Unrest

It is noisy in Bahrain and authorities did their best to keep things quiet on Tuesday.

This is the first anniversary if anti-government protests that rocked the tiny Gulf kingdom last February.

On Tuesday, the government deployed troops to prevent any gatherings marking the anniversary.

There were clashes, though between security forces and opposition supporters on the outskirts of the capital, Manama.

The fuel for the protests in Bahrain remain the same as a year ago.

The country’s majority Shiite population is demanding more democracy from the country’s Sunni ruling family.
