New York firm does record business painting lawns from brown to green

Here and Now

With temperatures regularly soaring into the triple digits this summer, home owners looking to keep their lawns green have little choice but to run the sprinklers — and run up some nasty water bills at the same time.

But Joe Perazzo has a solution. His Grass is Greener Lawn Painting company will paint your New York City-area lawn — and these days he’s busier than ever.

“We give you instant results by spraying it from brown to green,” Perazzo said.

His crew cuts and trims the yards, covers any patios or other surfaces that shouldn’t be dyed and then used a waterproof, fade-resistant green dye to turn the grass to a more lively looking color.

“You’ll get instant magical results from brown to green on the spot,” he said.

Perazzo vows the end-product looks “incredibly” natural. He also said that the treatment should last from three to five months, so re-application shouldn’t be necessary.

He also says dying the grass is good for the environment. Of course, you can cut back on watering once you’re not worrying about keeping your lawn green. He also says the dye, which is plant-faced, is environmentally friendly.

“It’s a non-toxic, organic solution that is biodegradable,” he said. “And it is safe for kids and pets.”

Perazzo said his business is booming this summer, with the intense drought conditions. His business is spraying about 10 lawns per week right now, he said.

Customers range from home owners, to real estate agents, as well as to little league baseball stadiums, Perazzo said.
