Elephant9: Progressive Jazz-Rock from Norway
For this DJ pick I’ve chosen the new album by one of the fiercest bands on the flourishing Norwegian jazz-rock scene, Elephant9. This power trio consists of StÃ¥le Storløkken on keyboards, Nikolai Eilertsen on bass and drummer, Torstein Lofthus.
They started out as a jam band in 2006. “Atlantis” is their third album and this time around they’ve reinforced the band with Swedish guitar maestro Reine Fiske. The result is nothing short of mind blowing.
