This year, 6 names on the list are from the United Arab Emirates. Six years ago, half of the world’s richest people were from the US. this year, there were only four. That includes Richard Buffet, the world’s richest man. Bill Gates slipped to #3 on the list, even though his worth increased. A third of the new millionaires are from Russia, India and China, and India has four of the top ten, the highest of any country. there are two new entrants from South Africans and Nigerians, the first black Africans to make the list. This Forbes executive says despite the volatility of the global markets, there’s still a lot of wealth being created and never before in human history have so many people around the world advanced so quickly economically as in recent years, not even before World War I. The list is also beginning to show the amount of young wealth, and the majority are self-made billionaires.
