It was taken by hotel employees around the world and we asked them to rank hotel guests on a variety of factors such as politeness, willingness to complain, elegance and ability to speak foreign languages where the French are very bad. Also the French get so much vacation time, so less time to be obnoxious. (How has the image of the ugly American traveler changed?) Well a lot more foreign hotel workers speak English so they’re more easily able to communicate with American tourists.
