[waitingforcorrection: invalid GUID, no audio attached] Yesterday we talked about whether voters are ready and willing to elect a Mormon to the White House. We launched our discussion by talking about whether we’re experiencing a “Mormon moment” of sorts — as we see the religion popping up in pop culture references and in our political arena quite often lately.
We asked listeners whether they would vote for a Mormon and got quite a few responses. Jess Housekeeper from Utah called in, to say yes he would, but also to try and help clear up some common misconceptions about his religion. We wanted to ask Jess to join us to talk with us about some of the reactions we got from the segment.
At The World, we believe strongly that human-centered journalism is at the heart of an informed public and a strong democracy. We see democracy and journalism as two sides of the same coin. If you care about one, it is imperative to care about the other.
Every day, our nonprofit newsroom seeks to inform and empower listeners and hold the powerful accountable. Neither would be possible without the support of listeners like you. If you believe in our work, will you give today? We need your help now more than ever!
