Earlier this week, the New York Times ran a photo on the front page of three soldiers fighting in Afghanistan. One of them was wearing a helmet, armor, and a pair of pink boxers decorated with the words “I love NY.” The soldier’s name is Zachary Boyd. And his mother Sheree Boyd of Forth Worth, Texas, tells us how her 19-year-old son came to be wearing those boxers in the photo.
