(So far focus in Serbia seems to be on whether Karadzic should be tried for war crimes at all. Now from your own editor’s desk, how carefully would you say people are following the proceedings regarding Karadzic at The Hague?) Quite closely and it gets a lot of interest. There was a lot of interest in the Milosevic trial and Karadzic is kind of a star in the way he hid from authorities for so long. (To what extent is there sympathy for him?) Serbs in general believe that The Hague court and the West are not fair to Serbs, so anything Karadzic says about injustice resonates here. (Does that mean people will support him through this process?) People are ready to believe almost anything Karadzic offers, such as a secret deal with Holbrooke.
