The Bureau of Labor Statistics employment figures for August showed an increase in the number of unemployed black Americans to 16.7 percent. Ahead of his address last night before a joint session of Congress, President Obama faced criticism from members of the Congressional Black Caucus who urged the President to be “bold” in his speech.
