Israel Iran report

The World

It’s a working day at this beach town so it’s relatively quiet. But there’s a jarring reminder of the growing crisis between Israel and Iran: the presence of the air base which serves as the base for missile interceptors which Israel is counting on for defense. This commentator believes Iran is less advanced in its military capabilities than it claims to be, so the war of words is growing but actual military interactions remain far off. If a conflict is to be avoided at least some of Iran’s aspirations will have to be met and perhaps surprisingly the commentator believes there is a glimmer of movement on the diplomatic front. He believes Iran would like to be the big brother of the Middle East, which is unacceptable for many other players in the Middle East.
