How Would Default Affect US Military Families?

The debt ceiling saga continues to grip Washington, and as August 2 looms closer, the threat of a partial government shutdown and the loss of some government services seems possible.  The White House and the U.S. Treasury Department have warned that military spending could take a hit, which has military families worrying about how they’ll be impacted. Leo Shane III, Capitol Hill reporter for Stars and Stripes, wrote an article yesterday saying White House officials told veterans groups that a default would be “totally devastating” for active-duty troops and veterans.
