A fresh debate over homeschooling is dividing parents and teachers in California. Last week news broke of a state appeals court ruling that declared homeschooling by parents without teaching credentials illegal, leaving tens of thousands of homeschooling moms and dads at risk for prosecution. Many teachers are applauding the decision; homeschooling parents, of course, are outraged. San Francisco Chronicle education reporter Jill Tucker is covering the story, and she speaks with Faith Salie on Fair Game.
