The former Yugoslav Republic of Slovenia is not a place most Americans are familiar with.

That will change for some residents of New York this weekend.

The Slovenian ministry of tourism, and National Geographic Traveller magazine, are putting a spotlight on the country’s culture.

The initiative culminates with a large concert at Town Hall in Manhattan tomorrow night.

The concert will include at least one intriguing musical experiment.

Slovenian jazz musician Vasko Atanasovski will perform for the first time with New York guitarist Marc Ribot.

They are rehearsing later today, so we don’t know, and they don’t even know, what this experiment is going to sound like.

Each has his own style, Vasko Atanasovski says his reflects many influences.
