Chilean President Sebastian Piñera Echeñique has insisted hat nuclear energy is safe … and that Chile needs nuclear to feed its energy-hungry, growing economy. But in the wake of Japan’s crisis in a country that also suffers the side effects of fault lines, a number of Chilean politicians are calling for a review of the proposal and environmental groups are preparing protests.   Joining us from Santiago de Chile is Arturo Fermandois, Chilean Ambassador to the United States.
