On Wednesday, The Takeaway spoke with Thomas Day, an Iraqi War veteran who grew up in State College, Pennsylvania, where he took part in Jerry Sandusky’s Second Mile program. “Young folks of my generation don’t have a whole lot of faith in the leaders,” Day said. “And for me, this situation with my local leaders back home in State College, Pennsylvania, kind of encapsulates that.” Some Takeaway listeners thought Thomas’s assessment of the Baby Boomer generation was spot on. David Meyers, is a student at Columbia Law School and a writer for The Daily Caller. Meyers has worked on for Republican politicians on Capitol Hill for four years and is upset with politicians in both parties. He wrote to The Takeaway:
Despite working in the White House for 3 years and Senate for a year, I’m really upset with politicians in both parties. … I feel that neither the Democrats nor Republicans are willing to tell us the truth about our problems, compromise, or make tough choices – which is going to leave my generation facing a very uncertain and troubling future.
