Warren Buffett’s big China debut

Who better to spice up China's increasingly staid and dated Lunar New Year television special than…Warren Buffett?

According to Xinhua, China's official news service, the billionaire Buffett will sing and play guitar, appearing via pre-recorded video, during this year's annual hours-long TV special. The variety show, which features and endless stream of songs, dances and comedy skits, is the modern traditional background noise at Chinese family gatherings during the holiday, which falls this year at the end of January.

Xinhua quoted broadcast executive Wang Pingjiu as saying Buffett would serenade the massive audience of hundreds of millions and play guitar on Jan. 23. There was no independent confirmation about this head-scratcher from the billionaire himself.

"We all know that Buffett is good at investment, but few knew he also did well in singing," Wang Pingjiu reportedly said in a press conference.
