Two inmates from a maximum security Florida prison escaped Monday, with police tagging them as “very dangerous,” MSNBC reports.
Rondell Reed and Leviticus Taylor were reported missing from their shared cell during a routine headcount at 5 a.m., sending the prison into an immediate lockdown. Officials later found their red prison jumpsuits during a search of the jail, MSNBC reports.

"They likely had some type of rod that they used to break the locks off the secured doors in the hallway," said Indian River County Sheriffs Office spokesman Jeff Luther, MSNBC reports. "They then climbed over the fences around the prison that are topped with razor wire." Police believed the men escaped through a vent in their cell into a maintenance hallway.
Reed, 51, and Taylor, 25, were believed to be picked up outside of the Indian River County jail, the Miami Herald reports. Indian River Sheriff’s officials are currently reviewing surveillance taps and jail phone records.
Reed and Taylor are both awaiting trial for first degree murder charges, Florida Today reports. It is reported that Reed escaped from prison once before, 20 years ago.
