Doctors have had their practices turned upside down and they security threatened if they dare to put their skills toward tending to wounded rebel fighters.
At least eight people have been reported dead in Syria, according to activists who say troops fired on crowds of protesters after Friday prayers. Activists say Syrian security forces detonated “nail bombs” to disperse protesters in the restive Douma suburb of Damascus.
Syrian state television reported on Friday that over 30 people were killed in twin suicide car bombings in Damascus. The Syrian government claims al-Qaida was behind the attack. On Thursday, an advance team from the Arab League arrived in Syria for an observer mission.
