When Ralph Steadman came to thestudio to talk with Kurt Andersen (listen to their conversation here), we couldn’t resist asking him to do a sketch. Quite a few laughs, a fair share of “Oh dears,” and “a final flourish of splatter” later, we ended up with two drawings of Kurt and a studio desk covered in Steadman’s India ink. “I have never been so happy at an act of vandalism in my life,” Kurt said. To which the artist replied, “oh, it’s Happy Vandalism Day!”
