Queen Elizabeth II: 60 years of hats

GlobalPost

Britain's Queen Elizabeth II celebrates her Diamond Jubilee today.

As we remember the Queen's 60 years of reign as England's monarch, we would also like to remember the many fancy hats that have graced Her Majesty's head during the past six decades.

Queen Elizabeth II has worn at least 5,000 hats since her rule began on February 6, 1952, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

From bows and beanies to flowers and feathers on her head, Queen Elizabeth has effortlessly pulled off these extravagnant head pieces as she does her crown.

Fans of the Duchess of Cambridge, also known as Kate Middleton, may beg to differ, but today we remember why Queen Elizabeth II is the ultimate Queen of Hats.
