Congo News: FDLR attack kills 26 people

NAIROBI, Kenya — You've got to really love killing to still be at it more than 17 years after the attempt to wipe out your ethnically distinct neighbors — all of them — failed, but the FDLR are back in the news with yet another atrocity.

This time officials in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo say that 26 people were killed in two separate attacks on civilians.

The FDLR (Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Congo, but in a French form of the acronym) is led by men who perpetrated Rwanda's genocide in 1994.

These days they're no threat to Rwanda but a big threat to ordinary folk into whose villages they regularly sweep bringing with them murder and rape.
