Bomb found on Libyan Airlines plane at Cairo airport

Cairo officials say they found a bomb planted in a Libyan Airlines plane that arrived from the Libyan capital of Tripoli.
A team of explosive experts removed the bomb — found in a cabinet for paper towels in one of the plane's bathrooms — and defused it far away from the airport buildings, the Associated Press reported.
Tripoli-bound flight 203 was due to leave Cairo International Airport when the "metal object" was found shortly before take-off, according to Agence France-Presse.
"The captain immediately informed security authorities at the airport. Security officials and bomb experts boarded the plane and found a tear gas canister," the official said, AFP reported. "After a thorough search, nothing else was found on the plane and officials are now questioning the 75 passengers on board."
Officials kept all 75 passengers for questioning on the aircraft, which will stay in Cairo until after an investigation.
