Kashmiri separatist leader Sayeed Ali Geelani has earned the nickname "the Calendar Man" because it's his finger on the datebook that determines when the stonethrowers will hit the streets in Srinagar. But this year he's hit on a new way to capitalize on his sobriquet, reports Andy Buncombe in the Independent.
Geelani is actually publishing a calendar for 2011 — documenting the flashpoints in Kashmir's history of what he and many locals refer to as the Indian occupation.
Detailing the atrocities perpetrated by the security forces over the past 60 years, the paper says, the calendars are selling like hot cakes.
