The New York Times reports that eight people are dead after a shooting at a salon in Seal Beach, California, on Wednesday.
Seal Beach Police Department Sgt. Steve Bowles earlier told CNN that six people were dead and three in critical condition.
A Seal Beach police official told the Times that a suspect is in custody.
It states that the shooting took place at Salon Meritage, which is in the 500 block of Pacific Coast Highway.
The salon's Yelp page has already begun to fill up with messages about the shootings.
