Schweddy Balls unpopular with One Million Moms

This summer, when Ben and Jerry's rolled out their new ice cream flavor, named "Schweddy Balls" after a Saturday Night Live skit, most people were amused.

Not One Million Moms, though. The conservative group, a project of the American Family Association is boycotting the flavor based on its offensive name, reports ABC News.

“The vulgar new flavor has turned something as innocent as ice cream into something repulsive,” the group writes on its website. “Not exactly what you want a child asking for at the supermarket.”

They've been in hot water with the group before. When the Vermont based company rolled out a variation of its popular Chubby Hubby flavor, Hubby Hubby, to celebrate the state's decision to legalize gay marriage, One Million Moms got a little upset then too, reported Slate.

"It seems that offending customers has become an annual tradition for Ben & Jerry's," said One Million Moms.

“This is just about silly fun,” company spokesman Sean Greenwood said. “We didn’t name it for shock value. We did it because it’s a funny skit.”

The group doesn't limit their protests to Ben and Jerry's either. Dancing with the stars, a popular television show has also come under fire, because of Chaz Bono's participation. And Rite Aid's been boycotted because they sell "v*br*tors, d*ld*s and other s*x toys" (Asterisks courtesy of One Million Moms).

According to ABC, Greenwood also wanted to point out that the group isn't living up to their name. Ben and Jerry's has only only heard from about 600 angry moms.
