Kashmir leader calls for probe of unmarked graves

GlobalPost

Following a state human rights commission report that found some 2,000 unidentified bodies buried in 38 sites in north Kashmir, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has said there was a need for a Truth and Reconciliation Commission to find out what happened in the last 21 years, Press Trust of India reports.

Omar said the issue of unmarked graves will be raised at the Unified Headquarters meeting today

"To make an immediate comment on it will not be appropriate for me. We also want to know as to who all are buried in those graves," he said, according to the news agency.
